Our Visit to Wulai... September 22, 2009

On Tuesday, September 22 we headed off to Wulai with Mr. Yeh, Alex and Jill and Ian! Wulai was a beautiful place to visit! We definitely could have spent more time here. The waterfalls, mountains and surroundings showed off the true beauty of Taiwan. Riding in the cable car showed off the stunning scenery that surrounded this resort area. There were many stairs that lead us to a fun photo opportunity in front of the green screens. We had photos taken with fish, pandas, China's Great Wall and even Sponge Bob! Mr. Yeh bought us 3 keychains with these photos on them! We climbed up, up, up a whole lot more and finally had a chance to cool off our feet in some refreshing water. Shasha loved this! Shasha and Ian skipped rocks... OK... Ian skipped rocks and Shasha flung them aimlessly into the water. Mr. Yeh climbed all over the shore and rocks along the water to take photos of all of us having fun. Even Po loved the feel of the cool water on his piggies.

Then we enjoyed a huge lunch at the resort restaurant! Wow... it was so good! One thing I can tell you is that you will never starve when you are in Mr. Yeh's company! The food just kept coming to the table! Soup, white rice, A chicken dish, a mushroom dish, a pork dish, carrots, and a mountain green. Everything was delicious!

We could have just walked around and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings but Mr. Yeh wanted us to experience Wulai! We fed the fish, shot arrows... OK maybe I didn't exactly shoot them... I more like aimed and prayed that they hit somewhere near the target! My best shot may have been when my arrow hit Ian's target ...roughly 5 feet from where I was aiming! I blame the light wind! hahahha. We also shot paint balls. Shasha loved this and Scott and I let her shoot all of our ammo. A calming row around the small waterway was the perfect end to our Wulai day.

Then back down the stairs... this was way easier than the way up... and back down the cable car. We were headed to the Aboriginal Show but we were a bit early so we sat down and enjoyed some free samples and some iced tea. Oh... and we shopped! There were lots of nice things to buy here but the salesalady just followed you around making it hard to look casually. She tried very hard to talk Shasha into picking out a purse. Shasha told her no but the saleswoman just kept showing her the same purse in different colors. Finally, Shasha looked at her and said, "Look lady, I already have a purse!" Now that's a girl who knows what she doesn't want!!! She ended up purchasing a pink hat decorated in beads and shells! She wore it all day!

After the show we had our photos taken with some of the dancers and Po was filmed for an upcoming movie that will be sold to raise money for theravaged areas affected by Typhoon Maroket. That's right... my boy is a movie star! There was a company of girls from mainland China that were creating the movie and they all wanted to hold Po and be filmed! He is such a little ladies man already!

Wulai was a fantastic day and we would have liked to spend more time on he mountain!

well it is good to see that you had a great visit and got to see alot of the country while over there.

It is nice to know that Po and Shasha has a great time with putting their feet in the water.

I really love all the pictures that you are sharing..

Po being a movie star already. well he is such a cutie who could blame anyone for wanting him in a movie..

Shasha telling that lady about that purse made me laugh. She sure does know what she she wants or doesn't want..
