Wow... three weeks have passed since our First ruling already! I certainly can't say that it has been easy... it hasn't. They key seems to be to stay busy during the day to keep my mind off of Taiwan... but by all means I can say that THAT is a HARD task and Taiwan and PO basically are consuming my thoughts ALL DAY... EVERY DAY!
This past weekend we celebrated 3 years with our YangXi, China family! We were one of 10 families to travel to China together and to see our daughters' faces! It was quite the experience! We vowed that we would never lose contact with one another and though we are somewhat spread out up and down the East Coast (except Elaine... who is somewhere in Indonesia.... Hi Elaine and family!) we have certainly managed to do so at least once a year! And usually via Elaine's wordpress... I usually know more abot what is happening day to day in her life than in the families living just a few hours from here!

Anyway... Belinda and her daughter hosted our 3rd annual YangXi reunion at their home near Richmond, Virginia this year! It was a beautiful weekend and seeing all of those familiar faces was so very nice. It is funny because though the girls don't really see eachother a whole lot (if at all) during the year... they just gravitate to eachother! They are all so big and beautiful!

Immediately upon seeing eachother ... they just smile and hug and go off to play together! They rode cars around the yard, made bedaed necklaces and bracelets, swam in a little pool and just played until they couldn't go anymore! And the parents....we had such a great time together talking and catching up! We planned 3 more reunions for upcoming years... well, sort of! Next year... Christina, Frank and their beautiful daughter (who is so much like our Shasha) will host our 4th annual reunion, and then in 2011... Deborah, Chris and their beautiful daughter will host our 5th annual reunion in Virginia Beach. Now we didn't plan a few reunions in between... but we decided that we would all start saving up for our 10th Yang Xi Reunion in 2016 to all do a Disney Cruise (or a cruise or Disney) together! So... we will start our 10th reunion jar and collect all of our change so that in 7 years... we at least have enough money to pay for Shasha :)
Thanks Belinda and A!!!!! We had a wonderful time and we can't wait to everyone again next year!
And the fact of the day is ... Taiwan is home to 14 bird species found nowhere else in the world! The most famous is the Mikado pheasant, which is featured on their new $1000 bill!

wow! that looks like it was such fun. I think I recognized all the little ones, they have changed so much. LJ would have loved the car. Driving battery powered cars around the malls here is her very favorite thing. Sigh. Maybe we'll make the 2011 meet up.
