Shasha's blog... and the start of her-story!

Shasha started her own blog about a month or so ago. We haven't posted on it in a while but she asked to put her little brother's picture on it tonight... and so we did! Come on over and take a look... remember... she is only 3 and a half!http://princessshashasstory.blogspot.com/

This is a special time for our family this week and it doesn't have anything to do with our little Taiwan dumpling... but IT DOES have everything to do with our China Princess, Shasha! This week, on July 24, we will celebrate Shasha Day, Shasha's adoption day! Follow along as we remember and celebrate this super special week for our forever family!

Shasha's story started on December 10. 2004, when we applied with our China agency with the hopes to adopt our first child after a long struggle with the infertility roller coaster. It took forever, or so it seemed, to compile our dossier for China. It was finally received by the CCAA in China on June 7, 2005. And our wait for our referral began... and seemed to drag on forever, although I see now that the wait was relatively short in time. ... On May 26, 2006, at 11:19 am,I received THE phone call from Jill, our SW, at school that our referral was on its way to our house as we speak...Scott was at work (he is a firefighter). After lots of happy yelling and screaming I finally calmed down enough to make the 8 minute drive from work to home! As I drove up our driveway I spied the package tucked between the glass of the doors. It beat me home! I wanted to open it right there but I didn't. Scott and I had already discussed this and said that we would open it together! But it was just 11:50 am... how would I make it till 5??? So... I did what anyone would have done... I fixed my makeup, changed and drove to Scott' fire station with the F@d-Ex package in hand! Luckily, Scott was not on a call and we immediately opened the package together. The little face that starred back at us with those glossy brown eyes was absolutely beautiful we were officially in love! And the rest is her-story... (to be continued)...
