We receieved our e-newsletter from our China agency today. And yes, we are still adopting from China, too! It is just that THAT adoption is so far out in the distance it quite honestly HURTS to even think about it! Although, this summer we will have to do an update on our homestudy, USCIS fingerprinting, physicals and police and child abuse reports...Oh MY! Thank goodness we have our little dumpling, Po-Chun to concentrate on right now and to be Shasha's little brother in just a few short months... we hope! (our court hearing was TODAY!) We started our 2nd China adoption on August 2, 2007... exactly 1 year from our return date from China for our Shasha. We have an LID of April 2, 2008. Right now...CCAA has issued referrals through March, 2006. Yup... 2006! Our LID for Shasha was June 7, 2005, and this August 2 we will have been home with her for three years! So that's 9 months of referrals from China in just under 3 years. Let's just say we have a VERY long wait ahead of us. Scott and I have even discussed adopting from Taiwan once more while we STILL wait for our child in China.
Anyway, this is the little laugh our china agency sent us today. I have seen it on other blogs before but somehow when your agency sends it to you... it is funnier...
You Might Be Adopting From China If....
- you know that I-600 and I-797 aren't highways
- you've been expecting a baby for over 3 years
- you understand that it's 2006 in some parts of the world
- you've paid for 3 citizenships but never brought anyone into the US
- you know that waiting for China has nothing to do with dishes
- your homestudy is followed by a number (i.e. #3 or #4)
- you never know how many days next month will have
- you know babies come in batches
- you've been fingerprinted four times but never committed a crime
- you automatically assume everyone who is expecting is having a girl
- you own new clothing in 3 little sizes for all 4 seasons because you don't know when or how big
- you look twice when you see a ladybug
- you're more interested in what did happen in April 2006 than in April 2009
- you know people who understand when you talk about 2 day months and 5 day months
- your due date hasn't changed by days but by years
- you know who the Rumor Queen is AND you don't know who she is
- you know the forecast doesn't have anything to do with the weather
- you've waited so long, they re-checked your fingerprints to see if they changed
- when you speak of 'that time of month' you're talking about CCAA updates and referrals
You might be adopting from China if you love someone you've never met with all your heart!
Here's to a few more years of updating and waiting!
