CHINA referrals...

I read a blog this morning that introduced the world to their new daughter from China. The couple had an LID (Log in Date) from China of April 3, 2006. They received their referral yesterday and waited 3 years,8 months,3 weeks, and 5 days!!! We have a CHINA LID of April 2, 2008... 2 years later! The positive... the China program is still going. The negative... OMG... How long will WE WAIT???

It is a good thing I have my two cuties to take up all of my time waiting!

Santa WAS HERE!

Honestly, I can't believe that Christmas is OVER! It seems that it takes forever to prepare for this big day... all the shopping, the baking, the wrapping, the planning and it is all over in a flash. Shasha was so very excited this year for Santa to come. She just couldn't wait and when she finally realized that IT WAS CHRISTMAS EVE... she couldn't stop jumping around and shouting! She woke up at 3 am asking if it was morning time and then was up at 6:50 am for good! She wouldn't go down stairs because she was afraid that Santa was still there eating her cookies.... it was breakfast time ya know! She hopped down the stairs and spied her gifts from Santa! Her eyes were all sparkly and she was so excited to open them... Po, on the other hand, could have cared less!

Po was Baptized!

OK... so who was expecting snow on Sunday, December 6 here in PA??? Not me. Sure we sometimes get a little snow in early December but here on our hill we got close to 5 or so inches. It certainly did set a beautiful scene for Po's Baptism!

We bought his Baptism outfit in Taiwan at the Snake Alley Night Market. I was a bit worried that it would be too big for him but it was a near perfect fit! Po was so cute in his slightly cream outfit with black and gold trim and brown Chinese dragons! Shasha also picked out a new dress while we were in Taiwan and she wore it on Sunday for her brother's special day! She was an absolute princess! She wanted her hair curly... not an easy task with her fine, silky and poker straight hair. So the night before we put half a dozen braids all around her head and presto ... like magic... she had curly kinky hair!

It was so very nice to share Po's special day with our family, friends and congregation!

Lots to share...

Yes... I am very aware that I have not been a regular blogger lately. I have excuses.. not that you care, but still I have excuses! Ok... so returning to work and 2 kids is VERY time consuming! That's right, I admit it. I returned back to work (as a middle school librarian) on Tuesday, December 1. IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT. On Tuesday I was extremely choked up walking into the school building... and just couldn't wait for the day to end so I could go home with my family! I know it will all get better the days pass but returning to the school with 2 new administrators, lots of new (but friendly) faces for staff, and an entire 6th grade class that I don't know seemed to bring on a bit of anxiety!

Though we all spent much of the time sick...I enjoyed time off with my family very much! We spent so much quality time bonding, loving eachother and doing super fun things... I wasn't truly ready to break from the family routine. I can't say that after 4 days back to school I am adjusted but I think this week will be better than last.

Yesterday, our little Po saw Santa for the first time!

When he saw him he pointed at him and then began clapping! He wasn't afraid to sit on his lap but he wasn't really thrilled either:( He unwrapped his first present... a little fire station... although I think he enjoyed eating the paper more than the gift itself!

Shasha was so happy that it snowed yesterday!!!
We got about 5 or 6 inches here at our house. It was very pretty but Oh my... she drove me crazy! It was 4:30 pm when we finally came home from the Christmas Party and all she wanted to do was go out and play in the snow! So... 30 minutes of dressing the kids and we went outside to play in the cold snow IN THE DARK!!!! Shasha was in all her glory... Po not so much! He actually hated it. I sat him down in his Ralphy-like snowsuit and he did a faceplant right into the snow. HE SCREAMED!!!!! Maybe we will have better luck next time! What is so neat is that Shasha is at just the right age to LOVE SNOW... LOVE SANTA... AND LOVE CHRISTMAS! I am very excited that she is very excited!

I will have to continue later because I just got the call to go pick up Shasha from her playdate... hmmmm... that could be another reason I had time to blog a bit... Shasha wasn't talking my ear off:)

We have a New China Agency!

As I type... my sweet baby boy is napping peacefully in my arms and my little princess is watching a sad puppy movie on Disn@y channel. Shasha and Po are the two sweetest things... and I can't stop hugging and kissing them... EVER!!! I love being their Momma. And that is why I know that the right thing for us to do with our NEXT adoption is to follow along as our agency transfers our case onto their sister agency. We have completed the paperwork, signed away our names once again and mailed our packet off via USPS yesterday afternoon. And so... we now have a new agency to complete our 3rd adoption!

You would think that we would be scared and anxious about all of this but we have faith that all will go well. When our original Taiwan agency told us they were closing... we were scared. A wonderful agency picked up our case and within a year we have the most precious little boy in our arms. And so, it is with that awesome experience in mind that we continue our China journey with our new agency! So how long??? Who knows. Don't ask. But I am sure that Shasha will be old enough to babysit her by then... she's 4... DOESN'T THAT SAY ENOUGH??
